Well I’ve shared about my day trip mini vacations, but you asked how I go all these other places. Almost every client I’ve ever worked with, when asked about what they want more of for themselves or relationship says travel and adventure. What’s in the way? Well it’s creativity, time, and money of course.

So today I will share all the secrets I can think of so that you can travel too!

Work Trade:
There are all kinds of work trade opportunities. I worked at Playa Viva in Mexico for a 2 month stint in which I was able to take my children. We got travel, room, and board paid and all kind of excursions while we were there. I only worked about 10 to 15hrs per week and it is one of the happiest memories in my life!

My love of the Big Island started out as a work trade and it turned into me buying a house there years later!

Look up work trade or woofing.

Housesitting:
Plenty of people want house and pet sitters while they are away. Look on Craigslists for gigs or google house or pet sitting jobs.

Rent Your House While You’re Away:
For about as long as Airbnb has been a company I have either rented a room or my whole home. When we were in Mexico for two months, I paid all my bills, rent ect by renting my home on Airbnb while we were away.
I was a single mom for years and we had travelers from many different countries staying with us while we were in our home, so that we had more time together or we could travel.

Set your house up for rental now. Use this link to do it:

Put Money Away Every Week:
We all spend $ needlessly, maybe it’s a Starbucks habit or needless subscriptions. Get a really pretty box or envelope and drop dollars and change in. It adds up!

Get a credit card that has miles.
I pay all the bills I can and all the expenses I can on my credit card and get about 2 to 4 round trip tickets per year just for spending the normal I would spend.

Visit Friends and Family:
We often visit family. That’s a free stay and usually free food too! We do the same for them when they visit.

It doesn’t matter where you go, everywhere on the planet has a little charm. With family it’s good to plan ahead that it’s a little adventure your seeking, not just a visit. Set your boundaries ahead of time, but that’s a whole other topic.

Timeshare:
Use your friends timeshare. We have my moms old time share and you can get all kinds of extra weeks for your friends for between $150 and $500 for a week at a resort that would normally be more then $1000 per week.

Take a Day Escape at Home:
If you can’t stretch to go for any of the above right now, get off the pity pot anyway and make a vacation at home. Turn off the T.V., the phone, burn some candles, take a bath, play some music and have some sacred alone time or time with those you love. It’s FREE.

Everyday can be an adventure if you’re into sacred moments and memories. After all you are the one responsible for creating them.

Love,
Heidi
